Keeping Cool With Snugbury's

"I may have pottered in to Snugbury's, but I devoured my raspberry ripple ice cream quicker than Peter Rabbit could pull a carrot". Can you even begin to believe the deliciousness that's in a Snugbury's ice cream; it’s almost indescribable the explosion of taste and texture of the ice cream when it first goes in to your mouth, I went for the raspberry ripple, it was like having a bowl of fresh raspberries and cream. The smooth texture of the cream and the slight acidic raspberries hit my taste buds immediately; leaving a refreshing tangy feel, with those textures and flavours pouring through. The ice cream was as light as meringue with the full body of a bottle of red. Full of sophistication. it was sheer delight. You won't find a better ice cream any where. The only problem you'll have, is deciding on the flavour. Snugbury's have over thirty five different flavours, ranging from vanilla to damson and sloe gin to death by chocolate and honeycomb. You can even buy tubs of ice cream there to home freeze, so don't forget your cool box!!
Apart from the choice of flavour, you then have to decide whether to go for the waffle cone, the normal cone or a tub. The waffle cones come in two sizes of which you can have the large or the medium. Being a creature of habit, I've always tended to buy the waffle cone with the single scoop, I always feel this is enough and hits the mark perfectly and you seem to get more than if you were buying a traditional cone! A range of prices which present excellent value for money, when you consider the sheer quality of the product you're getting; the cheapest being just under two pounds, the dearest just over three, but all are priced competitively for the quality and enjoyment you're going to get when you take that first bite into your ice cream.
At the core of the business is the Jersey ice cream, and it shows through care and attention to detail. The actual barn where the ice cream is sold welcomes and draws you in with the assortment of ice creams in the chill cabinet. Snugbury's haven’t become over commercialised, and it doesn’t pretend to be anything else than a Cheshire farm selling delicious soft Jersey ice cream and they don't need to be, it's perfect the way it is. Visiting Snugbury's isn't a full day visit, but a pleasant hour or so at the most. Priority after buying your ice cream is to walk up the field to see Peter Rabbit. You can also take a beautiful farm walk along the Llangollen Canal, which at a leisurely stroll will take you about thirty minutes, you never know you might get to see some Jersey cows!! Snugbury's Farm is a great place to visit with the family, what ever age and the little ones will love meeting Peter. If you don't want to take a leisurely stroll up the field or along the canal, the farm yard has areas where you can sit and enjoy your ice cream in peace. The atmosphere at the farm is lovely and the staff are friendly and helpful, service is excellent too. And on a final note....... enjoy your ice cream.

It's great to see that credit and debit cards and contactless are accepted, because if you're like me, I tended to be cashless most of the time. and
