Why I Became a Blogger

I decided to start a blog way back in 2011/12 and that was to document the human experience of taking part in the Clipper Round the World Yacht Race, rather than the sailing, a total novice I thought it would be really good to get it all down and 'out there' and it became really successful, so hence why we're here today.  Who am I?  A teacher and somebody just about to become 50, but also a person who likes to be challenged, to problem solve, to explore and to take myself out of that comfort zone and this blog/website has given me the opportunity to start doing all of that.  I'm not scared to fail, because in failing we learn and take that lesson on with us; I'm an 'oh well', lets try this and this and this and see what happens.

After the race finished I didn't write anything for about a year, but always had in the back of my mind that I wanted to set up another blog and just write about 'stuff', some which included sailing.  So this has become a bit of a journey,  and for the past 8 months since, setting this up. I've been going with the flow mainly because I didn't really have an idea where I wanted to drive the blog, this has been a bit frustrating for me, but I'm a firm believer that things will fall into place and that 'having a go' is the important thing, at the end of the day, what have I got to lose and if people don't read it, don't like it, then so be it.

I have now had my EUREKA moment and found the direction that I want to take this in, previous to this moment I'd been trying to fit into what people wanted from me, but this is my blog/website, so I've turned everything upside down and thought, people can fit in with what I want to write about and showcase.

'm a Boden girl at heart; I like Marks and Spencer too:  these two places are where I buy the majority of my clothes, shoes and accessories, but I do buy supermarket; it's what the item looks like and how it feels is more important than where you got it from; If I can find clothes or accessories that I think are really nice, then I'll buy them.  I've been through the years of aspiring to just buying high end, no anymore.  I also love  interiors, I love Laura Ashley and Farrow and Ball to name a few; so why not write about these, along with other brands that I buy from, but I never buy at full price!!

While I'm 'under construction'  I'm going to be continuing with the blogging, because I love sitting down and writing, but I'm going to go off in another direction and start to showcase accessories in the form of bags and shoes to start with, but I'm also going to sneak in some breton tops, it has to be done.  Once I'm fully up and running, I might take on extra categories, lets see where the journey takes me.
